Goodness.
I forgot that I had a blogspot/blogger account. And I never use this site...mostly livejournal or tumblr. Twitter is my main site, even though it's not really "blogging". I need to keep up on this. Ugh.

Mayer Keys <3
How can you not love them? It's my girl Alicia Keys and her secret lover John Mayer ;) I mean really, we all heard about Swizz and Alicia together, but John and Alicia have that insane musical chemistry between them. Just watch any performance they have done together...you'll know what I'm talking about.
So yeah, I'm a Mayer Keys supporter, lol. I'm still all for KrucialKeys, too. I still love Mr. Brothers ;) But what's special (to me) about John and Alicia is that when they're performing together...it's like their having musical sex or something. I'm not even kidding. The way they perform and the incredible amount of chemistry that they have shows in their performances. Take the Grammy's performance, for example, when Alicia performed "No One" and John had a little guitar solo. Better yet, John Mayer's performance of "Gravity" at Madison Square Garden and Alicia made a surprise guest appearance...now that performance shows how much chemistry they have.
If you listen to "Lesson Learned" on Alicia's As I Am album, John is featured (he only says "It's alright, it's alright, it's alright" throughout the song), you can feel the chemistry that they share. Also, in John's album Continuum, Alicia's the background vocalist in "Gravity" and you can hear her singing along to John. Those two songs are just amazing...the chemistry and how their music (R&B and Blues) just combine into one beautiful genre, almost.
I'll gradually add more to this post, but for now, this shows my love from a Mayer Keys supporter <3

This Bed
"This bed is too lonely without you...
Don't wanna hold my pillow I wanna hold you."
I HAVE HAD THIS SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR AGES.
But I'm not complaining ;) It's definitely one of my all-time favorite Alicia Keys songs. Ever.
It's my ringtone. I NEVER buy or even use ringtones or whatever. But with this song? I spent $3.00 on this ringtone. Yeah. I love this song <3
Alicia...you don't know what you do to me, lol. I've had this song basically on repeat since December 14th (I got my Empire Edition pre-order early!) and I have over 360 plays on it...and counting. Goodness. I love this song though, so it's completely normal for this to happen ;)

Never Knew - Gravity
I'm starting a new "Never Knew" blog topic...it will be about things I never knew about something, and when I learn what it's about, I'll blog about it!
Never Knew thing of the moment? Gravity. No, not the force that Newton measured. The song. By my dude John Mayer -insert fan girl screams here-. From his album Continuum (one of my favorites album, just throwing that in there).
I've known this song for a while, listened to it and always loved it. And if y'all know me, when I like a song, I play it a million times. No joke.
So here I am listening to Gravity for the who knows how many times, and around the last 50 seconds I've always admired the background vocals. I guess I was so oblivious, or just didn't realize just who it was.
Background vocals on Gravity provided by my girl - Alicia Keys. Yep. I learned that just a few days ago, and I gotta say I was shocked, as dorky as that sounds. I've listened to Alicia for years now and I can recognize her voice from practically anywhere, from her talking voice to her shouting voice (like on Smokin' Aces, lol). I finally figured that out after listening to that last bit for a loooong time, listening to her breath and the "oooooh". It was definitely her. Also checked out websites just to confirm it, and man, I gotta say I felt stupid that I didn't know that until now. Knowing how much I love Alicia and John...it's crazy!
But I gotta say, I love Gravity in a whole new level now ;)

Well Hello.
Realized I haven't posted here in FOREVER!
Livejournal is better, I think. But I'll start posting here more often, cause other people seem to be using Blogger more than Livejournal.
Well today is the last day of 2009! Last day of this decade!
It treated me well. I kinda have to say that, cause this is the decade I remember most. I'm not old enough to say "Oh, this decade was the best" because I've only been around for 16 short years.
And a well lived 16 short years.
The 2000's were my childhood. From 1st grade to now, my sophomore year in high school.
That's when I discovered my love for the Seattle Storm, back in 2002. I never thought a sports team would change my life, but it did. From the Simone/Kamila era to the 10th Anniversary season, it's been a wild and crazy journey. Winning the WNBA championship back in 2004, dealing with the sale of the Sonics and Storm in 2006, and being saved by Force 10 Hoops in 2008 are so memorable. I'm definitely looking forward to many more seasons with my Storm, I love this team so much.
I can't forget, discovering my love for Alicia Keys. This woman is incredible. She's changed my life in so many ways, words can't even begin to describe how she's changed me.
When people ask me "What's the first Alicia song you heard?" I can't answer that. I don't remember. All I remember is listening to her on the radio years ago, probably in '05 or so. The first song I heard from Alicia was either Karma, Fallin or If I Ain't Got You. Who cares which song I heard first? All I know is that in 2007 my love for Alicia really grew.
When I received As I Am for Christmas that year, I listened to it and I absolutely fell in love. Soon I found out that she'll be coming to Seattle in September. I freaked out and when I found someone to go with me, I rushed and got tickets. Wasn't the best seats in the house, but that night was one to never forget. September 20th, 2008. WaMu Theater. Seattle, Washington. One of the best nights of my life.
My Alicia collection grew, and now I have all of her 5 released albums, a mixtape from J-Love, two t-shirts, a concert program, and a lot of little things of Alicia. I'm still waiting for the day that I will meet this incredible woman. Her wishing me a sweet 16 is also something I will NEVER ever forget.
I'll post more about my memories in 2009 later...but I'm gonna go celebrate the upcoming New Year with my family.
xoxo

Lauren Jackson is back in Seattle!
I've never been happier to hear that a Storm player has re-signed with the Seattle Storm.
Ever since hearing that our Lauren Jackson was considering to sign with Phoenix, I was uneasy about the 10th Anniversary season for our Storm.
What if she did sign with Phoenix? Or go back to Australia?
The Storm would not be the Storm.
But now, everyone can sigh a big sigh of relief!
THANK YOU FOR RE-SIGNING WITH THE STORM, LAUREN JACKSON!
AND LET'S WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR!
GO STORM GO!
